Our client is seeking a Senior Analyst within the Banking and Insurance Division. This full-time position reports to the Deputy Director and plays a crucial role in the prudential and conduct supervision of licensed firms. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience across diverse sectors within the Bailiwick of Guernsey’s financial services regulatory framework. The successful candidate will help determine the implementation of new standards, engage with the industry on regulatory changes, and enhance consumer protection while meeting international expectations.
Job Duties:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality prudential regulation and conduct supervision.
- Assist in protecting and enhancing the Bailiwick’s international reputation in the financial services sector.
- Contribute to the delivery of risk-based supervision and policy creation.
- Monitor developments in legislation and standards from relevant bodies.
- Maintain and develop relationships with licensees, including analysis of approvals and changes.
- Plan and issue consultation papers and analyse feedback.
- Conduct on-site visits and identify key issues in data.
- Review and analyse periodic returns and financial statements of licensees.
- Produce trend documents and present findings to the industry.
- Draft new policy proposals and produce accurate written communications.
- Lead on-site visits to gather specific information.
- Prepare and present findings, feedback, and licensee cases to governance panels.
- Assist with special assignments in relation to supervisory responsibilities.
- Represent the organisation at meetings and industry forums.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in insurance, banking, auditing, actuarial or a similar environment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to draft clear and concise written communications.
- Experience in conducting research and producing reports.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing training.
